Collection of Personal Information
We collect personal information to provide you with the best possible products and services that we and our authorised dealerships have to offer, to create a more personalised experience for you, and comply with our legal, regulatory, industry or workplace requirements.
Personal Information is provided by you when you register for services that we may offer. Providing this information is always optional, however, some services may not be available to you if you choose not to provide it.
Statistical Information is generated by our systems as they track traffic through our sites. When you visit our site, your Internet Protocol Address (IP address), domain name, date and time of visit, previous sites visited and browser type may be recorded. This information does not identify you personally and is not linked to the personally identifiable information that you may have provided. We use this information to help us identify what parts of our site our users visit the most and determine how best to service our users.
Ingham accesses the Motor Vehicle Register (MVR) to access ownership details in compliance with the Land transport Act 1998 by Waka Kotahi, specifically section 241 (www.gazette.govt.nz/notice/id/2022-au4073)
Collection and storage of personal information
You may browse and access information contained on the site without providing personally identifiable information. If you provide personally identifiable information (e.g. if you request a brochure, test drive or save the configuration of any vehicle) that personal information will be held in accordance with the requirements set out in the Privacy Act 1993. Your personal information may be held by Ingham electronically or in hardcopy on Ingham premises (in New Zealand or elsewhere) but in all cases Ingham will control that information.
Use of the Information
Ingham will use your personal information:
(a) for the purposes you provided it to Ingham;
(b) to send you messages to market or promote Ingham and its associated goods and services only if you have expressly signed up for the updates on any of our Ingham websites, or have supplied your details to us by other means for that purpose. The information collected by Ingham for this purpose (including email addresses) will not be shared with third parties and you may unsubscribe to communication at any time.
We have collected this information in order to provide the best possible service to you while you are visiting our sites. To this end we may use the information that you provide for the following purposes:

If you are or have been a customer of any authorised Ingham company your personal information will be used to update and will be held on Ingham’s customer database. If you have never been a customer of any Ingham and its brand partners your personal information will be held until you advise deletion.

As part of our commitment to providing the best possible service to our customers we record all Inbound and Outbound calls to our Customer Service Centre based in Auckland, and some to and from our Ingham dealerships as required.
Call recording helps us to ensure that our customer service meets your expectations and identify service improvements. We record calls for staff training purposes to improve the quality of our customer service and to ensure the information we provide is consistent and accurate.
Recording automatically stops when the call is disconnected, terminated or transferred.
In the event that you do not wish your call recorded we recommend that you contact us by alternative means.
The recordings are stored securely for up to two years after the date of the call, following which they are securely destroyed. Call recording information is accessible only by authorised Ingham personnel and only for the purposes indicated above. Call recordings may be disclosed in full or in part in response to requests made under the Official Information Act 1982. Requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis with the privacy interests of the individuals involved being given due consideration.
