AutoTalk Press Release: Ingham Motor Group to represent Chery across four NZ locations
Chery New Zealand has confirmed that Ingham Motor Group will become the latest addition to its expanding dealership network ahead of the brand’s official launch in July 2025.
Four Ingham dealerships—in North Shore, Hamilton, Tauranga and Taupō—will provide full sales and aftersales support for the Chinese automaker, bringing Chery’s national dealer count to 10. The move comes as part of Chery’s broader strategy to establish a strong national footprint, with dealerships confirmed across both metropolitan and regional areas.
Ingham Motor Group is one of New Zealand’s largest family-owned dealer groups, with more than 40 years in the automotive industry. The addition of the Chery brand adds to its already extensive portfolio across several marques.
At launch, Chery will offer New Zealand customers three models: the award-winning TIGGO 4 compact SUV, and the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) versions of the larger TIGGO 7 and TIGGO 8 SUVs.

The move reflects Chery’s intent to establish a robust presence across the country, with its initial dealer footprint spanning both major metropolitan centres and key regional markets.
Chery’s entry into the New Zealand market has been gaining momentum in recent months. The brand’s plans were outlined earlier this year in AutoTalk’s coverage of the TIGGO 4 arrival, and the announcement of its first 10 dealerships. Further expansion, including the potential introduction of the Omoda and Jaecoo sub-brands, was explored in Everything on the table for Chery brands.
With a growing network and a clear product roadmap, Chery appears poised to make a serious play in New Zealand’s competitive passenger and SUV segments.
