The wait is almost over. Chery has officially confirmed the key New Zealand specifications for the all-new Chery Stockman, giving Kiwi drivers their first detailed look at what is shaping up to be one of the most innovative utes to enter the market.
Designed specifically to meet the demands of New Zealand drivers, the Stockman combines serious work capability with advanced plug-in hybrid technology, making it New Zealand’s first diesel plug-in hybrid (PHEV) ute.

Chery says the Stockman has been developed with Australian and New Zealand conditions firmly in mind. From towing boats and horse floats to handling worksites, farms and weekend adventures, the new ute has been engineered to deliver genuine capability without compromising efficiency.
Inside, the Stockman aims to raise expectations in the ute segment with leather-appointed seating, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control and a premium audio system, blending rugged practicality with premium comfort.

A New Generation of Ute
Rather than choosing between diesel performance or electrification, the Stockman brings both together. The diesel engine delivers the long-distance capability and towing confidence ute buyers expect, while the plug-in hybrid system provides electric driving for shorter trips and improved fuel efficiency.
It’s a fresh approach that positions the Stockman as one of the most technically advanced utes arriving in New Zealand.
The Chery Stockman is expected to launch in New Zealand soon, with pricing to be announced closer to release. If these confirmed specifications are anything to go by, it is set to become one of the most talked-about new utes on Kiwi roads.
