Pricing and Major Updates for the upcoming 2026 Ford Ranger
Ford has officially confirmed pricing and key updates for the updated 2026 Ford Ranger, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most significant Ranger updates in recent years. With a revised engine lineup, new variants, fresh styling touches and sharper pricing across key models, the latest Ranger aims to strengthen its position as New Zealand’s favourite ute.
Production of the 2026 Ranger is set to begin in late March 2026, with first arrivals expected in June.
Simplified engines, broader V6 availability
One of the biggest changes for the new model year is a streamlined powertrain range. Ford has phased out the 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel, replacing it with a re-introduced and upgraded 2.0-litre turbo-diesel. The updated engine features a new timing chain and revised fuel injection system, delivering 125kW and 405Nm, with peak torque arriving from just 1,750rpm – ideal for towing, hauling and everyday driving.
At the same time, Ford has expanded the availability of its 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel across a wider range of Ranger models. For the first time, V6 power will be offered in XL variants, giving buyers more flexibility to choose serious performance without stepping into higher trim levels.
Ranger Tremor returns, now with V6 power
Off-road fans will be pleased to see the Ranger Tremor return as a full-time model, now powered exclusively by the 3.0-litre V6 diesel. Designed for demanding terrain, Tremor builds on its reputation with advanced suspension, full-time four-wheel drive, underbody protection and purpose-built off-road technology such as Trail Turn Assist, Trail Control and a dedicated Rock Crawl drive mode.
With its increased ground clearance, all-terrain tyres and distinctive Tremor styling, it sits neatly between Wildtrak and Raptor for buyers who want serious off-road capability without going full performance ute.
New limited-run Ranger Wolftrak joins the lineup
Ford is also introducing a brand-new special edition – the Ranger Wolftrak. Limited to around 300 units, Wolftrak is aimed at buyers who want V6 performance with standout design. Based on the XLT but upgraded with the 3.0-litre V6, full-time 4WD and unique styling accents, Wolftrak adds features such as a 360-degree camera, Pro Trailer Backup Assist and exclusive Traction Green paint.

It’s a bold, lifestyle-focused addition that’s expected to attract strong interest once it lands.
More choice for tradies and tourers
Another key addition is the arrival of a Ranger XLT Cab Chassis, offering more flexibility for buyers fitting custom trays, campers or work setups. With modern safety tech now standard across cab chassis variants, this model gives customers the practicality they want without compromising on technology or comfort.
Updated styling and improved standard features
Across the core range – including XLT, Wildtrak and Platinum, the new Ranger adopts a darker, more contemporary look. Blacked-out trim elements, refreshed wheel designs and subtle interior updates give the ute a tougher, more modern presence. Ranger Raptor remains visually unchanged, retaining its distinctive performance-focused design.
Ford has also increased standard equipment across the lineup. Highlights include a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen now standard on XL and XLT, dual-zone climate control on XL, improved driver-assist technology, and additional comfort and safety features on V6 models.
Competitive pricing across the range
Pricing has been sharpened, with Ford positioning Ranger strongly against key rivals. Entry-level 4×4 Ranger models now start under $60,000*, making V6 and four-wheel-drive capability more accessible than ever.
Pricing spans from $54,990* for an XL Single Cab Chassis Turbo through to $98,490* for the Ranger Raptor, with several new V6 variants filling key gaps in the range. Some turbo variants will arrive later, with timing to be confirmed closer to launch.
When will it arrive?
The new Ford Ranger is scheduled to arrive in New Zealand dealerships from June 2026, with full specifications, fuel economy figures and additional details to be released closer to launch.
With broader V6 availability, new variants like Tremor and Wolftrak, improved standard tech and competitive pricing, Ford’s latest Ranger update looks set to appeal to everyone from tradies to off-road adventurers and family buyers alike.
