PRESS RELEASE FROM KIA NZ: 30 September 2026

Kia New Zealand has announced a strategic partnership with Ingham, strengthening the brand’s presence on Auckland’s North Shore and positioning the business to capitalise on one of Auckland’s most significant automotive growth markets.

The partnership reflects Kia’s confidence in the long-term potential of the North Shore and wider Auckland region, while reinforcing the brand’s commitment to continued investment in its dealer network and customer experience.

Already a successful Kia partner through its Taupō dealership, Ingham brings proven experience with the Kia brand, a deep understanding of customer needs and a shared vision for future growth.

Kia New Zealand Managing Director Todd McDonald said the appointment represents an exciting opportunity for both organisations.

“The North Shore represents one of the most dynamic automotive markets in New Zealand, with a strong customer base and significant opportunities for future growth. We wanted a partner that shares our ambition for the region and has the capability to grow the brand further. There was significant interest from well established automotive retailers and I’m delighted to announce the new partner is Ingham Group. They have a clear belief in the future of Kia and enthusiasm for the opportunities that exist on the North Shore.

“Ingham already has an established relationship with Kia through its successful operation in Taupō, making them a natural fit as we continue to invest in the future of the brand.

“They understand the strength of the Kia marque, have first-hand experience operating a successful Kia dealership and share our commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. These next steps with them are just the beginning.”

The North Shore continues to be a tactically important market for Kia as the brand expands its range of passenger vehicles, SUVs, hybrids and electric vehicles to meet evolving customer and fleet demands. Recent international award-winning models include the PV5 electric van, recognised as the 2026 Global Van of the Year, as well as the EV3 which was bestowed with the 2025 Global World Car of the Year award.

For Ingham, the appointment represents an opportunity to build on its existing partnership with Kia and further support the brand’s continued momentum in New Zealand.

Ingham Managing Director Trent Ingham said the new partnership is an opportunity they’ve wanted for some time.

“Kia is entering one of the most exciting periods in its history. With strong momentum across the model range and growing demand from New Zealand customers, it is important that we continue to build the strength of the brand in the region, as well as elevate it.

“I am confident the team we have are ready to meet our customers expectations and provide a high ownership experience.

“There are some new staffing positions available and we have been incredibly buoyed by the interest in these, as well as the calibre of the applicants.  We can’t wait to get things officially underway in a few weeks time.”

The new Kia North Shore site at 182 Target Road is set to be fully operational from October 19.  To support the opening, the dealership will have first views of the next generation Seltos, followed later this year by the PV5 Passenger electric van.
