All-new Kia Sportage debuts with special introductory offer.

All-new Kia Sportage debuts with limited time at a special introductory price of $34,990*

Kia’s flagship SUV, the 2022 Sportage, will be available for test drives at Kia dealers around the country from November^, then will launch in January with an unheralded special introductory offer for those who want to be amongst the first in the country to get behind the wheel of the new model. Renowned as Kia’s number-one selling vehicle globally, the all-new Sportage is set to emulate a similar sales trajectory in New Zealand, as more than 300 orders have already been received – so the rush is on for potential customers to act early and secure the special offer.

  • All-new Kia Sportage, the ultimate urban SUV, now more desirable than ever
  • LX 2.0-litre two-wheel-drive petrol model available for a limited time at a special introductory price of $34,990*
  • Flagship Kia model features progressive design, enhanced specification, increased cabin spaciousness and premium interior appointments
  • Set to be one of the safest vehicles in its class, thanks to protective driving technology and Advanced Driver Assistance System features
  • Full New Zealand model line-up, specification and pricing to be released closer to official on-sale date

“We have high expectations for the all-new Sportage and, as a limited time offer, are making the all-new LX 2.0-litre two-wheel-drive petrol variant available from only $34,990*,” said Managing Director of Kia New Zealand, Todd McDonald.

“This represents exceptional value as Sportage offers a striking exterior design, premium interior appearance and appointment, as well as an all-encompassing suite of safety features.

“Sportage has evolved and is an entirely new and sophisticated proposition.  It is the dawning of a new age for Kia and our iconic SUV.”

In New Zealand, the all-new Sportage will be available in four different trim levels with a variety of engine and powertrain combinations, in a mix of two-wheel and all-wheel-drive. One of the most noticeable developments of the new model is a significant change in overall vehicle size, growing in almost every dimension.  The total length and width of the Sportage is 4660mm and 1865mm respectively, which is comparable in exterior proportions to a 2009-14 XM Sorento, a large seven-seat SUV. The elongated wheelbase of 2755mm, combined with increase in height to 1660mm, delivers spatial improvements for all passengers including enhanced leg and headroom for second-row passengers, as well as greater luggage capacity. All of this extra space makes the all-new Kia Sportage a truly passenger-friendly, mid-size SUV.

From a safety perspective, a comprehensive suite of passive and active features is standard across the range.  Kia’s acclaimed Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology helps the Sportage to avoid potential hazards while protecting occupants and other road users on every journey. As part of its ADAS package, the all-new Sportage features Kia’s industry-leading Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), which helps avoid collisions with objects in front of the vehicle while driving.

Full details of all models will be released closer to on-sale date, but with specific regard to the LX, highlights include 17-inch alloy wheels, rearview monitor with dynamic guidelines, Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go, LED Headlamps, 8-inch Touchscreen Infotainment and 4.2-inch TFT LCD cluster, Front Parking Sensors plus heated-and-folding side mirrors.

In a statement released this morning, Kia’s confirmed that it will offer the Sportage LX 2.0-litre petrol variant for $34,990. The firm has yet to reveal pricing for the rest of the range, but the LX 2.0-litre is likely to eventually have its price bumped to around the $40,000 mark.

*Introductory maximum retail price applicable to Kia Sportage LX 2.0-litre petrol two-wheel drive, including GST but plus ORC, offer ends 31 December 2021^At appropriate Covid-19 Alert Level and following MOH Guidelines
