GWM has strengthened its ties with the One New Zealand Warriors, extending its role as the club’s official automotive partner for a further three years, through to 2029.

The partnership began in 2024 as GWM’s first major sporting sponsorship in New Zealand. It has since expanded across the Warriors organisation, covering the NRL, NRLW, New South Wales Cup, Jersey Flegg Cup, SG Ball Cup and Harold Matthews Cup teams.

The inclusion of the NRLW team is a notable part of the renewed agreement, supporting the continued growth and visibility of women’s rugby league in New Zealand.

“GWM’s impact as a partner has been exceptional from the outset, adding energy and passion to our valued relationship,” said One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.

“Their innovation and creativity in bringing our brands together to create special fan experiences is a key reason they’re capturing the hearts and minds of Kiwi car buyers. We’re thrilled to extend our partnership for a further three years.”

GWM Country Manager NZ Cameron Thomas said the relationship had developed well beyond a traditional sponsorship.

“The One New Zealand Warriors’ partnership has become a very important part of GWM’s journey in New Zealand and being part of a partnership that supports the full club, including the women’s team, is something we are genuinely proud of,” said Thomas.

The partnership has also produced initiatives such as Wahs Selling Cars, bringing Warriors personalities, GWM vehicles and fans together in a distinctly local way.

GWM now has 20 dealers nationwide and an expanding New Zealand range spanning SUVs, utes, hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles. The extended Warriors partnership forms part of the brand’s Go Local, Grow More strategy, with a focus on strengthening connections with Kiwi customers through local partnerships and real-world experiences.

With another three years confirmed, GWM and the Warriors are set to build on a partnership that has become an increasingly visible part of both brands’ presence in New Zealand.
