Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid Drives Festive Spirit in Tauranga with Christmas Can Appeal

25 November, 2025

Ingham Tauranga is supporting a city-wide Christmas Can Appeal in partnership with The Hits and Tauranga Food Bank, encouraging the community to contribute non perishable food items for local families who may need extra support over the holiday period.

The appeal is centred around the Chery Tiggo 7, which has been selected as the primary collection vehicle for the initiative. With a 475 litre boot that expands to 1,500 litres when the rear seats are folded, the Tiggo 7 provides the capacity needed to transport large volumes of donated items. Its combined driving range of up to 1,200 kilometres allows the team to travel between collection points across the Bay of Plenty with ease.

“We are proud to play a role in supporting our community during the Christmas season,” says Evan Campbell, General Manager of Ingham Tauranga. “The Tiggo 7 is a practical and capable SUV, and it is well suited to a project that is focused on helping local families.”

Collection points will be set up at Tauranga libraries including Mount Maunganui, Greerton and Papamoa, with scheduled drop off dates running through late November and early December. Every item placed into the Tiggo 7 contributes directly to the Tauranga Food Bank’s efforts to provide essential support to households across the region.

Ingham Tauranga encourages residents who are able to donate to take part in the appeal. With community participation and the support of the Tiggo 7, the initiative aims to make a meaningful difference for families this Christmas.

Details on collection dates and locations are available through The Hits and the Ingham Tauranga website.
