Ingham Tauranga Backs Local Charity Effort for Oasis House and Days for Girls

Ingham Tauranga was pleased to support the Rotary Club of Tauranga Te Papa’s recent High Tea and Charity Auction, held in aid of two community initiatives. The team donated a full service gift voucher and a Chery Tiggo 9 for a weekend getaway, which were included in the charity auction.

The event, run by the club’s Women, Children, Health and Wellbeing Committee, sold out with more than a hundred guests in attendance. Volunteers, including students from ACG’s Rotary Interact group and Bethlehem College, helped the afternoon run smoothly, alongside the lively auction, raffles and a spread of fine food.

Thanks to the generosity of the businesses involved, the event raised over $10,000. Funds will go towards upgrading the playground at Oasis House, a respite centre for young people with high needs, and towards the Days for Girls Tauranga Sewing Team, which provides menstrual health resources and education to young women across the Pacific Islands.

In a letter of thanks, Rotary organisers noted that the quality and generosity of donated items helped create excitement throughout the auction and contributed to the funds raised. Ingham Tauranga was glad to play a small part in an event that will make a lasting difference for local families and communities across the Pacific.
