Dom Harvey, Brand Ambassador for North Harbour Hyundai

The team at Hyundai North Harbour are thrilled to announce their exciting partnership with professional broadcaster, author and all-around nice guy, Dom Harvey.

Earlier this month, Dom was appointed Brand Ambassador for the Hyundai dealership, and the marathon-running extrovert is clearly the perfect choice to represent this versatile lifestyle brand.

Known for promoting the importance of a healthy mind and body in today’s fast-paced world, Dom – who launched his popular podcast Runners Only! With Dom Harvey in February – reflects Hyundai’s forward-thinking, high performance, sustainable living and earth-friendly values.

Runners Only! might be a bit of a misleading name for the podcast,” he explains. “The common theme is that every guest has a story about running, even if it’s just the cross-country they did at school, but it’s really about focusing on the connection between movement and health – both physical and mental.”

With the weekly podcast growing from strength to strength, the gregarious radio personality was ready for a new challenge. And the opportunity to partner with the global automotive powerhouse was one he was eager to tackle.

“I’m really excited about teaming up with Hyundai North Harbour,” he enthuses. “For me, it’s incredibly important to feel good about any product or brand you align with, and Hyundai is a great company to get behind. You also need to connect with the people you’ll be working with, and everyone at the dealership has been so welcoming and friendly. I’m fizzing about this!”

About to jump behind the wheel of his cutting-edge Santa Fe SUV, to say Dom was impressed with the Hyundai SmartSense™ technology of this market leader would be an understatement.

“The safety features in this vehicle are amazing – when you turn on your indicator, the visual display shows what’s happening in the lane behind you to remove any blind spots. And I was blown away when I learnt that you could even stand outside the SUV and park it by just using the remote”.

“I’m going to become a terrible driver because the car does everything for you,” he jokes. “But I can’t wait to take it off-road and see what it can do.”

And to top it all off, Dom will soon be enjoying the eco-friendly technology of an electric motor when the eagerly anticipated Santa Fe Hybrid model arrives on New Zealand’s shores. Enhancing the SUV’s core strengths with increased fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, this innovative addition to the Hyundai range is due to be released later this year.

Dealer Principal at North Harbour Hyundai, Nic Tsimas, is delighted to have Dom on board.

“Dom is an ideal fit with Hyundai’s values, energy and lifestyle culture, and we were thrilled to appoint him as Brand Ambassador,” Nic confirms. “He’s extremely positive about everything Hyundai stands for and will be such an asset to the brand.

“With his friendly, personable approach, he’s genuinely interested in people and their stories, and our customers will respond very well to that. As a result, the partnership felt like a natural affiliation, and we’re so pleased he’s joining the Hyundai North Harbour team.”

Alongside putting his Santa Fe through its paces, Dom will also be attending events hosted by the dealership and sharing his experience with the Hyundai brand.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone at the event we’re hosting in August,” he says. “It’s going to be great!”
